Felyx started working at Awards ’n More in Wisconsin Rapids on Feb. 1, 2026. From the beginning, he enjoyed the hands-on work of creating trophies and quickly became an important part of the shop.
Felyx has made approximately 2,000 trophies so far, working on projects for a variety of events and occasions. He enjoys the creativity involved and often contributes ideas of his own. He especially likes working with his hands and seeing the finished product.
Van, the owner of Awards ’n More, has given Felyx opportunities to try different projects and learn new skills. Together, they discuss what works well and what doesn’t, making adjustments when needed. Those ongoing conversations have allowed Felyx to explore different types of work and discover where his interests and strengths fit best.
Felyx says Van is “like a mentor to me.”
Felyx also knows what it feels like when a job isn’t the right fit. He has had previous jobs that didn’t work out, but he says Awards ’n More is different.
“It’s the perfect fit for me,” he said.
Van describes Felyx as “my trophy guy.” The two have developed a strong relationship built on humor, trust and mutual understanding. They joke around and talk openly, and Van provides guidance and feedback when needed.
“He’s like my son,” Van said.
For Van, creating a welcoming workplace comes down to something he learned from his mom: “No matter what, treat others how you want to be treated.” That philosophy is reflected in the way he works with Felyx and the rest of his team.
Awards ’n More is about more than personalized products. Van believes the experience matters, too — the conversations, relationships, and how individuals feel when they walk through the door. Felyx is part of that experience and has become a familiar face in the shop.
Outside of work, Felyx enjoys baking, playing video games, and spending time with his dog, Penny. He also enjoys walking to work as part of his routine.
Looking ahead, Felyx is taking “baby steps” toward another goal he has set for himself: earning his driver’s license.
For Felyx, finding the right job has meant finding a place where he enjoys the work, can use his creativity, and build a strong relationship with his employer. At Awards ’n More, he has found all of that and more.
